Cocoon
What if our everyday objects could remind us of our deep connections with the natural world? Cocoon is an innovative lighting installation that combines human ingenuity with the elegance of natural processes.
Designed to resemble a cocoon and mimic the living life inside of it, this project demonstrates the potential for collaborative creation with nature.

Who is this for?
Cocoon primarily serves as an art installation in the form of a lighting product. Its main aim is to establish a connection between humans and nature, presenting an alternative path in product design that works in harmony with natural processes. The installation's main structure is inspired by the actual shape of a cocoon, its microscopic structure, and Voronoi diagrams. It is designed to give the impression that a huge cocoon is floating in the middle of a structure, highlighting the delicate balance and intricate connections between form and functionality.

The Future of this Product
Cocoon is brought to life through the collaboration of silkworms, which complete the structure by spinning silk around it. The entire piece is suspended by silk threads, creating a display that is both ethereal and captivating. At the core of Cocoon, an interactive light responds to the presence of observers with a gentle, pulsating glow that mimics a living heartbeat. This dynamic interaction not only draws the audience in but also enhances their engagement, fostering a personal connection that underscores the symbiotic relationship between human creativity and nature’s ingenuity.
